BIOGRAPHY

Sarah Grant is a director and creative producer at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. She is a double major, in both Film and TV Production (B.A.) and Cinema and Media Studies (B.A.) She is a recipient of the prestigious Town and Gown Scholarship, as well as the Pierre and Mary Cosette Endowed Fund for Student Intern Support. During her time at USC, Sarah has explored a wide range of disciplines within filmmaking, but is most proud of her directing, producing and sound work on two Junior Thesis Films: Shifter, a sci-fi/fantasy about a young woman who finds out that she is an alternate version of the Greek goddess Athena (writer/director); and Hypocrisy, a drama about a relationship between two lifelong friends, which has been strained by personal tragedy and drug use (producer/sound designer.)

Sarah is a SoCal native, from Huntington Beach. Hence, she grew up around the entertainment industry and was shaped by the arts from a young age. During her childhood, she was involved with Discovery Arts, a nonprofit that brings the joys of song, dance, crafts and story to pediatric wings of hospitals. Following this, she was a pre-professional ballet dancer, training with Festival Ballet Theatre/Southland Ballet Academy, and later, at American Ballet Theatre’s William J. Gillespie School in Costa Mesa. It was through an injury that Sarah eventually discovered her love for film and its ability to reach and bring hope and joy to a wider audience than could ever be done through dance. Through directing film and television, Sarah hopes to give back by helping to shape and grow individuals through the characters and stories she brings to life on the silver screen.

Sarah has also interned in development at Captivate Entertainment, the production company behind the Jason Bourne franchise, for two semesters. She currently hopes to work her way up through the ranks of development in a science fiction-based production company.
